Small calculators

Three tools for questions we kept running into. Each one shows its formulas, and none of them sends what you type anywhere.

These tools grew out of problems we hit while building Andamio, Globdrop and Ahorreo. How much buffer a task really needs, how badly a map projection distorts the region you're looking at, and what a mortgage costs when you only own half of it are questions with actual formulas behind them. Rather than bury that maths in a blog post, we made small calculators you can use directly, with no sign-up and no data leaving your device.

Common questions

Do these tools store or send my data anywhere?

No. Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, stored or shared.

Are they free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no limits. Each calculator page shows one Google AdSense ad below the result; this index has none.

Can I export the results?

The buffer estimator exports the plan as Mermaid code, and the mortgage calculator downloads its monthly schedule as a CSV file. The distortion calculator has a table of values by latitude you can copy.

Is the mortgage calculator financial advice?

No. It shows how the French amortization system works with the figures you give it. Your bank's offer depends on its own rounding, fees and payment dates.
