A puzzle you can read at a glance

Inspired by the design-by-subtraction of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and drawn in colourful cel shading.

No jumping

You walk, climb stairs and let yourself fall. Everything else comes from those three moves, so every level can be read at a glance.

The load matters

Crates, vessels, heavy stones, balloons and ice cream, each with its own rules: some break when they fall, some will not climb stairs, some melt.

The camera is a tool

Turn the diorama 90° to find what is hidden behind the architecture. Some illusions only work from one angle.

Think, don't rush

Unlimited undo and a calm mode that turns every level into turns. Nothing is lost by reflexes.

The odyssey of the new home

The Pityusic lizards of Ibiza are running out of shelter: invasive snakes push them out and there are fewer and fewer places to hide. A young lizard asks the goddess Tanit for help, and Tanit gives her a talisman that makes her bigger and stronger than the rest.

Her journey across Ibiza is a necessity. In every place she has to find shelters and the route to them, solving puzzles, opening doors and gathering resources. In every level she leaves the materials of one shelter in place: the stones, the vessels and everything that makes it habitable.

The game teaches in passing how the real lizard lives and what is done to protect it. What is fiction (the talisman, the giant lizard) is told as fiction; what is real comes with a source. Read the fiction notice.

Places

Each place is a small arc: it introduces an idea, develops it, twists it and closes it.

  • Dalt Vila: whitewashed streets, stairways, rooftops and the wall. Learning to move without jumping and to take care of the load.
  • Calas: coves, boats and water.
  • Es Vedrà: the rock and its paths.
  • Disco and Salinas: the night and the salt flats, with sluices to open.

The first 30 levels are free. A one-time purchase removes the ads and unlocks the rest.

Limitations

What Sargantanit doesn't do, so you can decide before you start.

  • It is not in the stores yet. The links will appear on this page when the listings are live.
  • It is a single-player puzzle game: no multiplayer, no accounts and no leaderboards.
  • The first 30 levels are free with ads between levels. The rest of the levels need a one-time purchase.
  • It is not directed at children under 14 (it shows ads and has an in-app purchase), even though its content is suitable for all ages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I play Sargantanit?

Not yet. It is coming to Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store). This page will carry the store links as soon as the listings are live.

What do I do in the game?

You guide a lizard through floating dioramas of Ibiza. In each level she has to leave the materials of a shelter (stones, vessels and other loads) in their place without losing or breaking them. She carries so much that she cannot jump: you walk, climb stairs and let yourself fall, and everything else comes from that.

Is there a time limit or anything that needs quick reflexes?

No. It is a game for thinking, not for reflexes. Undo is unlimited, and a calm mode turns every level into turns.

How much does it cost?

The first 30 levels are free, with ads shown only between levels, never during one. A one-time purchase removes the ads and unlocks the rest of the levels. The price is shown in the store before you buy, and you can restore the purchase on any device with the same store account.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No account. Your progress is saved on your device. Ads and the purchase need a connection; the levels themselves do not.

Is it for children?

The content is suitable for all ages: no violence, no chat and no user-generated content. But the game is not directed at children under 14, because it shows ads and offers an in-app purchase. See the privacy policy.

Is the lizard real? And the goddess?

The Pityusic lizard (Podarcis pityusensis) is real and lives only in Ibiza, Formentera and their islets. The talisman, the giant lizard and the invasive snakes' plot are fiction made for the game; Tanit was a real Punic goddess worshipped in Ibiza. The fiction notice explains it.
